I first discovered Twist 'n Loc storage containers by Ziploc last summer when I was making and freezing lots of fresh tomato sauce. Now I've been using the containers all winter to store things like chicken stock and soup in the freezer as well. Let me say that these are absolutely fantastic freezer containers. They're sturdy enough to stand up to many trips through the dishwasher, they never leak, and they're completely air-tight, so the frozen food always tastes fresh when it's thawed out. I love these containers so much, I decided to add them to Kalyn's Kitchen Picks, the list where I gush over the foods and kitchen products that make me smile. (No, Ziploc has not sent me any containers or paid me to write about them, in case anyone is wondering.)Some people may be thinking this is silly to get so excited about freezer containers, but I have a big garden and a big freezer, and freezing things from the garden is a priority for me. I also regularly cook things for my father and stepmother, so I need a way to cook in advance for them and freeze the food. There has literally not been a week all winter that I haven't used a few of these containers.
The containers come in two cup (one pint) or four cup (one quart) sizes. Both sizes are marked on the side in one cup increments, which is something that's very handy when you have quarts of chicken stock in the freezer and you only need two cups. The lids screw on tightly and are interchangeable between the two sizes, which is another big plus for me. Finally, I love it that the containers nest into each other so they can be stored laying down in a drawer.

My grocery store puts these on sale regularly, and they're around $1 each on sale, so I've accumulated a good supply of them in preparation for this summer's tomato sauce making season. I tend to skip plastic but I like the lids fitting both sizes and no leaking. I'll have a look for these.
You can buy these in big packs at Costco. I love them!
I love these also - I use them mostly for soups, stews and sauces. They hold up great in the freezer, don't change color w/ tomato sauce (which scares me!), and defrost w/o cracking!
I love these containers... the four cup size is perfect for freezing stock in easily defrostable/usable amounts.
Love them for both storage and for taking my lunch to work. For a while I was carrying a backpack. The storage area is very narrow, so the wider, flatter containers won't do, especially if the lids aren't tight-fitting. These were perfect - no worries about leaks on my laptop.
Even my husband commented that he liked them!! :)
I discovered these recently, and yes, I do love them! I bought them to transport things like plain yogurt to lunch for work, and they don't leak at all.
I love the fact that these are reusable containers; so they reduce our use of one-use plastic bags which are so often used for storing stuff in the freezer.
And for those of us urbanites who long for but don't have big gardens, these babies are great ways to take leftovers (including soup!) to work for lunch without having to worry about it getting all over the inside of your bag.

I discovered these containers a couple years ago and I love them too. Around that time I had just started dating someone, and I invited her to come over for a delicious dinner I was making (homemade pasta with cilantro hazelnut pesto). She said she didn't feel like it, but I could bring some over. So I brought it to her in one of those containers, which never returned because she liked it so much. In fact, I think she liked the container better than my cooking.
Thanks for the rec Kalyn! I've seen these but never thought of getting them because we normally freeze our stock in ice cube trays. But for soups, these would be fantastic!
We've been using vacuum sealed bags for soups and it gets frustrating to have to pre-freeze the bags before vacuum sealing them.
These Ziploc containers are perfect and no more mess with freezing soups!
Let me add to the chorus of "these are awesome!" - I have transported many a quart of soup to friends without worries of them leaking all over the insides of my coolers.
I love them.
I only wish they were square-sided, so they wouldn't take up so much storage space in the freezer... But then, you wouldn't be able to twist the lids on, would ya?
(I'm rethinking this. It is possible to have a square-sided vessel with a round lid. Go for it, Ziploc!!)

I love these too! I like to plan my meals to take to work the night before and these containers have come in very handy! I usually pour some milk in one to make oatmeal for breakfast and use another one to make my own yogurt parfaits with layers of frozen berries and granola.
Where have I been??? I've never even heard of these!
My husband I I have used these for a while. I have found them to leak at times while carrying soups to and from work, even after making doubly sure that the lids were tight. But for drier lunch options, they are fantastic!
