Can anyone recommend good phase 1 breakfast options that do not include eggs? My husband is committed to the diet, but after the first week, really doesn't want eggs for breakfast anymore. Help please.

Lindsey, a few people have made suggestions about phase one ideas without eggs on the index page for eggs and breakfast dishes if you want to check and see if any of them sound appealing. I haven't come up with a great idea yet for that, but one thing I eat sometimes is just lowfat ham rolled around a piece of cheese. (I use string cheese, cut into a couple of pieces, wrap a thin piece of ham around each one. Not very exotic, but I like it.)

Thanks so much for the quick response, I hadn't seen those posts (new to the blogging world and didn't scroll down far enough). Those are great to get me started and I'll be sure to add a post of my own if I come up with any good non-egg Phase I breakfast ideas. :)

sometime i get tired of eggs as well so I have sweetened it up a little. I use egg whites(can be egg beaters whites) and add a packet of splenda, drop of almond extract and some cinnamon. Whip them up real good and cook them with a little pam spray. It kind of forms a pancake looking omlet. On phase 2 go ahead and top it with some fruit. Yummy if your tired of savory every morning.

I have cottage cheese for SB Phase 1 breakfast - no prep time! :) You can even get the "to go" versions now.

I love this website. I am soooo happy to have found it. I am just getting started on SBD, but I took tuna for breakfast to work 2 days. My coworkers thought I was nuts, but works for me. I am going to try egg salad next week.

Thanks everyone for the breakfast ideas!

Kay, thanks for letting me know you're enjoying the blog.

Kayln, your site is an inspiration to us all. You are so generous and helpful! I have been trying to find a place that gives menu suggestions for the SB diet. I know they have menus in the books but I was wondering if there be any other sources for menus? That's the part I struggle with--what to serve with what.

Cookcat, some of my posts have suggestions for what to serve with the dish, but other than that I don't know what else to suggest. Have you tried googling "South Beach Diet Menus?"

We want to restart the SBD but we were looking for some recipes to freeze so we could get home and pop a container into the oven (like the dinner places where you could make 14 meals in about an hour..)... are there some great recipes that freeze well or does anyone have any suggestions??? thanks
